The Svelte Gourmet Launches in Charleston
New small business offers “personal training” in the kitchen
CHARLESTON, SC – November 17, 2009 – The Svelte Gourmet today announced its official launch in Charleston, SC, and online at www.thesveltegourmet.com. The company provides services, products, and recipes to help individuals and families create meals that are both healthy and delicious. The Svelte Gourmet's mission is to teach people how to make nutritious food taste good, enjoy cooking while staying fit, and realize how easy it can be to make gourmet meals that even the kids will love.
“Many trainers and nutritionists provide the basics for a healthy lifestyle, but not the techniques to make meals taste good, too. That’s a major reason why people get bored and revert to unhealthy eating,” said Jennifer Fox, founder of The Svelte Gourmet. “I want to show people that by swapping out unhealthy ingredients for healthy ones and learning a few fundamental techniques, they can make healthy meals that taste great – and are new and exciting – every day of the week.”
The Svelte Gourmet offers a variety of customizable services, such as:
· The Svelte Gourmet "Personal Training" sessions that provide hands-on learning sessions in the client’s kitchen or The Svelte Gourmet’s kitchen laboratory;
· "Cooking Svelte" dinner parties, where clients cook and learn with their friends and eat together in a dinner party setting; and
· The Svelte Gourmet classes and seminars, in partnership with health and fitness organizations.
The Svelte Gourmet will publish a cookbook in early 2010, and currently offers other products to facilitate “svelte” cooking. All products and services are available online at www.thesveltegourmet.com.
“The Svelte Gourmet began as a blog, which gained hundreds of followers very quickly,” said Fox. “People began to ask for classes, services and recipes that would allow them to get healthier but still make interesting meals for their families. There truly is a growing need for this. The Svelte Gourmet is meeting this need by helping clients build the foundation for a healthy lifestyle.”
